What Is The Residential Section? (Golds)

As gold participants should know by now they have to take part in a residential trip. This led to some confusion however this blog should hopefully aid your understanding. According to the official DofE website "This involves spending 5 days and 4 nights away from home on a shared activity with people you’ve never met before". Although you have to mix with new people you can still bring fellow friends and participants along as there are others. Likewise staying away from home is mandatory to pass this section.

If you are unsure on what you want to do here you can find many pre-planned options, however doing some research for yourself may result in a more fulfilling experience. Hopefully this has somewhat aided in your understanding in what the residential section requires, please feel free to comment below with any questions you have.

Silver Expedition

Hi all,

Here is a video that can show you everything we got up to on our weekend away!
We had great fun starting with the weather being warm and beautiful to changing dramatically and pouring with rain! Throughout the weekend we walked several miles through forests and mud and all in all it was a great weekend and one that we won't forget. We are very grateful to the teachers for putting on the event and we can't thank them enough for putting up with us!

The weekend consisted of 3 nights and 3 days. Our aim of the weekend was to make a video of all the wildlife that we saw. In this video it shows exactly what we did see! It consists of, horses, butterflies, ants, cows, caterpillars and beetles! Hope you enjoy it:
